Calming the body

Aloha from Dr. Silke!

Once a week I will give you a simple tip to be more peaceful in a stressful world.
When you are stressed (stuck in traffic and being late, waiting in a long line, etc.) just slow down your breath. Breathe in for 3 seconds (count one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three) and breathe out for 4 seconds counting again. Tell yourself that you cannot control the situation but you can calm your body. Do this for as long as you feel comfortable but at least for a few minutes. Do the breathing as often during the day as you like to calm the body and mind.
Please let me know how this worked for you. I also invite you to post things that help you to be more peaceful so that all of us can benefit.

Thank you.
