Being Impatient

11/25/2014

Being impatient can make you feel upset at yourself and others and can become a source of distress and conflict. Do you know what creates this feeling? Maybe you don't give yourself and others enough time to get something done and want immediate results; or there are obstacles that are not well understood. Understanding the triggers for your impatience is very helpful in shifting your attitude and learning more acceptance and patience. Sometimes it may be helpful to discuss triggers with others involved to make changes. It will create more inner peace and harmony with others if you begin to practice patience.

I invite you to share your experiences with impatience. Let me know what topics would interest you for further posts.

Thank You.

Procrastination

Procrastination has many faces and it can be a habit. It happens when you put off tasks you were supposed to complete. There are many possible reasons for procrastination including not wanting to be told what to do, feeling scared because you don't know how to do a task, not scheduling enough time to get it done. Understanding your feelings is the first step to find solutions to be more aware and mindful and to complete tasks on time. It may take some time to change and learn how to stop procrastinating. Everyone around you will feel pleased when you complete tasks in a timely manner.

I invite you to share your experiences with procrastination.

Thank you.

Anger Trigger: Being Ignored

11/6/2014

Aloha from Dr. Silke

When a friend or relative close to you is in trouble and confides in you, you may want to help and give suggestions and solutions because you care. It's very understandable to get angry and upset when these suggestions fall on deaf ears and are not implemented. You may feel: Did I waste my time listening and caring?
Frequently people just want to vent but are not ready to make any changes. It may be helpful to ask the person if he or she just wants you to listen or get some advice. It will help you to know how to best help your friend.

I invite you to share your experiences when your advice is being ignored.

Thank You.
